DoI have to get the Irish registration changed and tax done by DVLA and then get a MOT before I insure it with a UK insurer?

I have recently moved to the UK from Ireland and need to get my registration changed. I have notified Revenue and Customs and have submitted my import form to DVLA last week. I rang them this morning and they told me that it will take 10 working days and they haven't started to process it yet! Am I right in thinking that I have to have my new registration, the tax paid and an MOT on my car before I can get insured with a UK insurer? I have tried the comparison websites the only insurer that will insure me without a UK registration is incredibly expensive! Any advice would be great :)

Hey Im 22 and dont have dental insurance. Ive had a bad cavity for about 2 years and off and on gives a really intense pain. How much cheaper is bike insurance (if at all) than car insurance?

i am 18 and am torn between the two, i will go for the cheapest option. as none of my parents can drive i cant be put on one of there policies :( so id have to start from scratch. if i am to insure a bike im lookin at insurance for a bike of 125 cc.

Monthly payment for Car Insurance?

Hi, I'm 18 and I want to get a car, but I am not sure if I can afford car insurance. I was told I can put my name under a relative's insurance (He is around 50). So I have a question for you guys. How much money do you pay for car insurance a month? I know it varies amongst states and ages, but I want to get an idea of the amount of money I may be paying. I live in New York so I know it will probably be way higher than other states. Please provide your age, state, and car insurance monthly estimate. Thank you! =]

Cheap insurance for someone who had foreign licence?

Do you know any insurance company which will insure a small van (suzuki carry), and will recognise my previous 8 years driving experience in Australia? I have only just got around to getting a British licence (as the road rules and driving standards are similar, I can just trade my Australian one in, no test), and been living in the UK just over a year. Have tried a few insurance quote websites, and they all seem to be quoting me the same as a brand new driver who has just passed their test - i.e. extremely expensive! thanks for any tips!

DoI have to get the Irish registration changed and tax done by DVLA and then get a MOT before I insure it with a UK insurer?
